Girls don’t watch cricket??

India unexpectedly won the T20 world cup final. A huge reason for them to celebrate.. of course. Most of us must've bunked classes or offices to watch this match. Those who missed watching it live don’t know what they’ve missed. I’m afraid they’ll never know. Anyways, most of the boys think that girls are not supposed to be sport enthusiasts, leave alone cricket. But a good number of girls were watching the match at our office cafeteria on the day of the finals. So the much touted theory of 'girls don't watch cricket' is NOT true.

Mind your Manners

Granted that people grow up in different environments, and that Miss Manners' books aren't exactly flying off the shelves these days. Granted that I have high expectations of others (None-the-less, I myself tend to be rude at times).
I find it funny how some people (including me) think that by being rude, they'll get what they want?! Explain that one?
Earlier last month, I used to take the company car to be dropped home. Ms impolite demanded to be dropped first. Had she been a bit polite, I wouldn’t have had a problem with that. And she had a defender by her side.
People tend to sympathize with those whose guilt they share. So, by defending the rudeness of others, they betray their own vested interest in not being blamed for having behaved similarly. If you doubt that anyone could be morally weak enough to defend the rude, watch what happens the next time you stand up to a bully. Bullies of course won't respond to anything less than nastiness and power. So, when you tell the story of how you stood up to a rude person and won, watch and see if your audience doesn't call you rude. See if they don't also ignore the bigger rudeness you were responding to. By chiding you, they encourage you to keep quiet and be a victim. Such remarks only serve the aggressor's interests.
Wise men say that people who are polite seem to shock everyone around them. So the next time you come across people who are being a real goofs, just try to be super nice to them.. it'll either:
a) make them look incredibly stupid
or..
b) get them very mad!

Either way its fun to see what response you get..

Reminder: Don't forget to use the three golden words you were taught in school -
Sorry, Thankyou, Please

Try this....!!!!

Your EQ is 113
50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick!51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you'd have better luck understanding Chinese.71-90: You've got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely.91-110: You're average. It's easy to predict how you'll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that.111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt.131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin.150+: Two possibilities - you've either out "Dr. Phil-ed" Dr. Phil... or you're a dirty liar.

Did you know?

Absolutely nothing happened between 3 and 13 September 1752

In September 1752 the Julian calendar was replaced with the Gregorian calendar in Great Britain and its American colonies. The Julian calendar was 11 days behind the Gregorian calendar, so 14 September got to follow 2 September on the day of the change. The result was that between 3 and 13 September, absolutely nothing happened!

The calendar switch also influenced the way George Washington's birthday is celebrated. He was born on 11 February 1731, but the anniversary of his birth is on 22 February because of the 11 days eliminated from the calendar switch. At the same time, New Year's Day was changed from 25 March to 1 January, thus according to the new calendar, Washington was born in 1732.

Value has a value only if its value is truly valued

In a class of 100, the professor asked, “ Who wants this 500 rupee note?”
Hands started going up. He then proceeded to crumple the note, and asked the same question. The hands were still up.

We all can learn a valuable lesson from this.
No matter what the professor did to the note, they still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth the same amount.
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled and ground into dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, we will never lose our value.

Each one of us is special.

Don’t ever forget it!

Never let yesterday’s disappointments overshadow tomorrow’s dreams.

I am surviving

Can you all survive without your cell phones? I’ve given mine (the so called N-series) for repairing, its been 3 weeks already and my heart is still beating... So, I suppose the answer is yes. And am using some 10 year old model for the time being, and that too just for answering calls, using the text option is quite user “unfriendly”.

We love them so much that some of us sleep with them under the pillow, use them to convey our most intimate secrets to lovers and friends, yet we worry that they are eroding our privacy.

I would say that is no need for just about everything to be stuffed into a device which is essentially used for voice communication and text messages, still technology allows... Most of you won’t agree with me but I guess it depends upon how one uses their phone.
I could live without my mobile phone but I always have it with me for the 'just in case' scenarios!
We all seemed to survive well enough without them before they became common place, and yeah, its bit of a generation thing.
ALSO,
Mobile phones are a great way of pretending you have lots of friends...you just add names to your address book.
BUT True friends don't need technology to keep in touch, do they?

TGIF !!

I have just survived what can only be described as the most hectic week I've undergone since I came to this land. (Even though I hardly had any work ;)). But anyways, Thank God its Friday.
Needless to say why we love Fridays and hate Mondays.

A business man got on an elevator in a building. When he entered the elevator, there was a blonde already inside and she greeted him by saying, "T-G-I-F" (letters only).
He smiled at her and replied, "S-H-I-T" (letters only)."
She looked at him, puzzled, and said, "T-G-I-F" again.
He acknowledged her remark again by answering, "S-H-I-T."
The blonde was trying to be friendly, so she smiled her biggest smile and said as sweetly as possibly "T-G-I-F" another time.
The man smiled back to her and once again replied with a quizzical expression, "S-H-I-T."
The blonde finally decided to explain things, and this time she said, "T-G-I-F, Thank God, It's Friday, get it?"
The man answered, "Sorry Honey, It's Thursday."

So it’s the weekend. Relax, get out and about, but most of all – have fun..!!

Do you have a backup..??

All my favorite Hindi songs-DDLJ HAHK and MLTR.. etc..etc.. collection went down the drain last year, when Dad deleted my audio files from my personal folder. "But why??" Got wild upset coz I din't have a backup for my favorite stuff.
Dint that happen to any of you anytime in the past? Lost your phone? and dint back up?

Moral of the story:
Learn from your mistakes. I did.
Now I have a back up for all my important/favorite stuff. Cant afford to lose it again.

Whatever method you choose, remember that backing up your files is very important, and make sure that you do so to protect against the worst.

Now, ain't I sounding tech savvy...!!!

Food and Mood

I eat for a living. I am passionate about food, it excites me.
Its not just alcohol that is a mood altering substance. Our everyday food does affect our moods too. Many of us feel happier when we eat chocolates and sweets. So shouldn’t we make use of some great recipes on how to make life more fruitful(pardon the cheap pun) and pig out on a fun and calorific idea of sundae entertaining? So what if it is calorific? Life, my friends, is never about being fanatical about anything, but all about balance. Savour Gods gift in every way and keep smiling!
